Fellow UU’ers,
It’s hard to believe that it’s March already. I understand from unnamed sources that spring is just around the corner. Thankfully the winter has been mild and except for the few snow storms, that always seemed to be on Saturday night, we sailed through winter rather easily this year.
As many of you know our administrator, Joanna, has resigned due to personal reasons. This will obviously put a little hardship on our Fellowship as we had depended on her for so many of the routine jobs for the congregation. The Board of Trustees will be discussing this situation, and figure out our next step at our Board meeting on March 8th. We will be disseminating some of the tasks to volunteers to help us get through the interim, so don’t be surprised if we call on you.
In February of each year the President of the Board of Trustees gets to select a nominating committee. I am pleased to announce that Linda Griffin, Amalia Connelly, and Andy Denler have agreed to be a part of this important committee. They are tasked with soliciting members that are interested in running for the Board of Trustees. This year we will elect 5 Trustees. Some of the current Trustees have agreed to run for reelection. If you are interested in being on the Board please contact one of these people to express your interest. If you have any questions you can ask any of the current trustees about what it means and how much fun it is.
We are also ramping up for our annual Pledge Drive for the Fiscal Year 06-07. Joyce Federiuk will be leading the pledge drive this year and has been making lots of plans. Look for more information and think about what this Fellowship means to you.
The Fundraising Committee has also been working hard to meet our financial needs with many different and imaginative fundraisers. One of the surprising methods has been through their Ebay site. They have raised almost $2000 this year through donations from members that have been sold on the site. They are however looking for someone that is interested in being the “administrator” of the site to relieve Shahan Islam of some of his workload. If you are interested please contact Shahan or Ginny Stillman to let them know. Of course keep looking for those items lying around your house that would be great to donate and be sold on our Ebay site.
And as always I want to thank all of you for making this Fellowship what it is and to remind you that your work does not go unnoticed. We can’t do it with out you.
Be Safe,
David Morkal
President Board of Trustees
