President’s Letter — May 2006

Fellow UU’ers,

It’s hard to believe that our church year is almost over. It’s also hard to believe that our pledge drive is over (or almost over). Thanks to Joyce Federiuk and her Pledge Committee for all the work they did to make this years Pledge Drive successful. Early returns look good and it seems the Board of Trustees will have their hands full as they decide how to spend your generous pledges. Remember if you haven’t gotten your pledge form in, it’s due last week. So if you’re the type of person that likes to put things off the last minute, you did and you can send it in now. We need those pledge forms so that we can start the budget process for next years’ fiscal year.

Thanks go out to Michael Schwartz and the Social Events committee for this years Seder. It was well attended and a great time for everyone. Thanks also to the membership Committee for the Friday Night Dessert Buffet. Not only were the desserts incredible but the company and conversation was outstanding.

If you are starting to plan out the month of May, here are a few items to try to squeeze into your busy schedules. The B&G spring cleanup is going to be this month. The final date is TBD so look for that announcement soon. Our final fundraising event Learning Workshop Days is scheduled for May 6th and 13th. There are several different workshops planned for your education and enjoyment. If you would like to sign up for one or more of the several workshops see Lourdes Valls-Weissman or e-mail her. The second annual Junior Art Show will begin May 13th with an opening reception at 1:00pm. They will be taking in art on May 7th for the show, so if your child is interested in putting something in the show see Barbara Lalicki, Sheri Brown or Meghan Morkal-Williams. If you are making plans into June make sure to remember that our Annual Meeting will be on June 4th at the 11 AM service with a regular service at 9 AM. June 11th will be our final service before our summer hiatus. June 25th will be the annual picnic, so keep an eye out for more information about that important and fun-filled day.

As always I want to thank all of you for what you do, this Fellowship would not be the same without you.

Be Safe
