I often lead off the Sunday service by saying "Welcome to this religious community of human beings." What do I mean by that? I want to speak a bit about the complexity of our human nature and the role of "humanism" among Unitarian Universalists. It's a good sermon for those who are new to UU and are thinking about joining the Fellowship. Hopefully it will be instructive.
