PROGRAM: “The Festival of the Chestnuts”

Visiting minister, the Reverent Phil Passantino will present. Rev. Phil says, “We will celebrate the Festival of the Chestnuts (”Sagra della Castagne’) from Calabria, the toe of the boot of Southern Italy. I’ll talk about the customs there and interweave Italian folk tales and traditional folk songs, using my acoustic guitar for musical accompaniment. We will try to create an atmosphere conducive to feeling like we’re in Italy that morning. And I would also like to roast chestnuts. If I can’t bring you to Southern Italy, I’ll bring Southern Italy to you in the traditional Italian music, storytelling, and lots of chestnuts!”
